Food

Food appeals to our senses: taste, smell, texture, color & presentation. Food can be hard & crunchy, or soft & munchy.

As a small child, my mother & my grandmother fascinated me. Like many Armenian women, they excelled in the kitchen producing frequent superb Mediterranean banquets with panache. I watched (and learned) how to make pilaf, marinated kebabs, various meat or vegetable kuftas, pita bread from scratch as well as filo which was used to make baklava & spinach cheese bouregs,also taboule, hummus & babaganouge.

My kitchen skills were further enhanced by working in the kitchen chef/owner of Aux Puces located on 55th Street in Manhattan, NY. There I also displayed & marketed my design, photography, calligraphy & painting skills.

Food & the accessories for its processing, presentation & processing have great potential for visual appeal and the work in this section also features the color & shape of favorite  produce.
