60s Psychedelia

In August of 1969, I hitchhiked 3,000 miles across Canada & the U.S. In my backpack were my journal & pens where I drew pictures & wrote about my encounters & adventures.

My best friend David Coulter flew to meet me in Southern California. Together we journeyed through Mexico to study Pre-Columbian Art & dig the rite of the magic mushroom, in the remote mountain jungles of Oaxaca, investigated by noted ethnopharmacologist Gordon Watson in 1956.

We hiked over 50 adventure filled miles to this charmed locale. The images here include those drawn on site at this enchanted heart of the ’60 mystique.
